WASHINGTON, Maine -- Gibbs Library announces it will extend it's popular children's Music Circle program into 2010. Held Mondays January 11 through February 15 at 10:30 am, the Music Circle is taught by Waldorf teacher Joanie Dean. This child development program, offered free of charge, is perfect for infants, toddlers and pre-school age children with their parents or caregivers. No pre-registration is required.
Each half-hour program includes singing, finger play and circle games, ending with a small puppet story. The library also hosts a children's play time from 9-11 am on Mondays, so the Music Circle is part of this well-attended gathering. The play group schedule allows children time to run and play, and then end their morning with music and creativity.
Dean is an experienced Waldorf Parent/Toddler teacher and seasoned Early Childhood assistant teacher. She is a graduate of LifeWays Early Childhood and Human Development Training as well as Juniper Tree School of Story and Puppetry Arts.
Gibbs Library is located at 40 Old Union Road, Washington. For directions and more information, go to gibbslibrary.org or call 845-2663.
